The Enthusiast's Magazine of Ferrari
Cavallino is the journal of Ferrari history, covering Ferraris old and new for over 40 years. It's the most reliable, most trusted source of everything Ferrari. Ever since the first issue in 1978 Cavallino presents extensive stories and detailed information from knowledgeable experts and enthusiasts who share the passion for Ferrari. All Ferraris are unique, and each one has its own chassis serial number. This is how the Ferrari world keeps track of all the great cars. Cavallino is the only publication that prints the serial number for every Ferrari mentioned in our stories, articles, and race results.

20 | Feature | Not just a Spyder - The Daytona Spyder! The Ferrari 365 GTB/4 without a hardtop - an unqualified success! Dyke Ridgley Steven Pike Taking the fast back roof off the Daytona coupe may have seemed daring, but here it was an aesthetic triumph. The new back deck blended seamlessly with the rest of the body envelope, and if one chose to race the soft roof, one was pleasantly surprised to see that this oft-overlooked appendage was perfectly shaped, and perfectly proportioned to the body below it. |
24 | Feature | Testarossa! Hail and Farewell - "series I" comes to an end Doug Mitchell Doug Mitchell We bid a very fond and warmhearted farewell to the aging, but already ageless, Ferrari Testarossa, this exotic machine which has thrilled one and all to varying degrees over six very successful years. You know, of course, that a revised Testarossa will be on the scene by the end of the year, a refined and evolved Testarossa, but will it be so different as to make the current model an absolute entity? |
28 | Feature | An early Farina Coupe! Saved from the grave - The 1950 Ferrari 166 Inter Stabilimenti Farina Coupe, s/n 041 S Alan Boe Alan Boe When recounting the story of one of Ferrari's earliest models, the 166 series of coupes, cabriolets and barchettas, names such as Carrozzeria Touring of Milan and Alfredo Vignale of Turin played an important part. In addition to Touring and Vignale, Allemano, Ghia, Bertone and Stabilimenti Farina all had a hand in clothing Ferrari's 166 Sport and Inter chassis. |
